FASHION REPORT: SWIMWEAR 2016

FASHION REPORT: SWIMWEAR 2016

Although Mother Nature insists on gloomy and bitterly cold winter days, the sun’s warm rays are only months away from rescuing us from dread! To help keep your recurring fantasies of sipping cocktails poolside and lounging in the sun (a girl can dream!) warm, we've compiled a comprehensive list of the upcoming season's hottest swimwear trends — sure to heat things up.

#1 - One-Pieces Reign

The one-piece is a Summer '16 staple, appearing on the runway in classic neutral colors and bold, graphic prints. The abundance of fabric means designers are free to showcase breathtaking motifs, eye-catching details and dramatic cut-outs. We love this trend because it means we can feel sexy even after giving in to some afternoon tacos and marks...

#2 - Cut It Out

Cut-out detailing is a continuing trend that just won’t quit — showing up on everything from bikinis to one-piece swimsuits in beachwear this season. It adds a flattering, dramatic flair to any piece, and allows you to highlight your best features. Cut-out detailing is best on solid-color pieces, especially the classic Little Black Suit.

#3 - Go Retro

The runway kept it retro for yet another summer season, showcasing high-waisted bikini bottoms, skirted one-pieces and ruffle detailing. We love to channel our inner pin-up stunner this summer season — it adds a classy touch to our beach wardrobe.

#4 - Take the Plunge

Plunging necklines dominate the runway too this summer season, and added drama to the trending one-piece and monokini. We love the versatile nature of the plunge one-piece, which can be transformed from a daytime beach piece to a nighttime party look when paired with a skirt and heels.

#5 - High Neck

Yet another fabulous repeat of a previous season's trends, the halter-neck pieces elongate our figure and provide no-fuss wear. This style is seen on both bikini sets — which give a sport luxe feel — as well as elegant one-pieces.
